November 2008

 

Dear Prayer Partner,

 

"First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayer, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity." 1 Timothy 2:1,2

 

This month, the election on November 4 is on all of our minds. Our nation will be electing a new President as well as many legislators and other governing officials in state and local positions.

 

We are to fulfill our civic responsibility to vote. But we are also to fulfill our spiritual responsibility to pray.

 

God is the One on the throne. He rules the nations. "But God is the Judge. He puts down one and exalts another." Ps. 75:7 And God also responds to the prayers of His people.

 

Therefore, please pray for this election. Pray that God will put in leaders who will enable us to advance the gospel of salvation so that Jesus Christ will be glorified to the ends of the earth.
